Dorfman Karate, established by winning father/son team Malcolm Dorfman Shihan and Shane Dorfman Sensei, is the Honbu (head) Dojo of Karatenomichi South Africa, the official representative and affiliate of Karatenomichi World Federation (KWF), headquartered in Japan.
Dorfman Karate aims to impart the true essence of traditional karate by fusing the knowledge of Malcolm Shihan and Shane Sensei with the core precepts of KWF karate devised by legendary Grandmaster Mikio Yahara.These teachings have the ultimate technical objective of creating complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit in order to deliver a single technique which is capable of incapacitating an opponent (ichigeki hito).
As we believe that a true karateka is a holistic being, our aim is to not only ensure that our members receive top technical instruction, but also become beneficiaries of all the valuable and deeper aspects of karate training.
We believe that there is a place for everyone in our dojo irrespective of age, belt level, physical condition and/or level of competitiveness. Our classes are therefore designed to accommodate our members’ individual needs accordingly.
