Ingwe Forest Cabins & Adventures

General information

Ingwe Forest Adventures is situated in The Crags on a private farm in an indigenous forest, about 16km outside Plettenberg Bay. We offer forest accommodation for groups of all sizes,
a venue for weddings and events, conference facilities and teambuilding and environmental education programmes for youth camps and businesses.

Eco­Friendly:
At Ingwe our focus is on minimising our impact on the environment, and we achieve this by
living as eco­friendly as possible through recycling, collecting rainwater, composting,
growing our own herbs and vegetables for the kitchen, minimising our use of electricity,
planting trees and removing alien vegetation, and fitting our bathrooms with showers instead
of baths. We also have an abundance of wildlife which we strive to protect.

Accommodation:
Our accommodation ranges from a self­catering cottage in the forest that sleeps 14 people,
bunk­bed cabins that sleep 26 people each, to a private 2-­sleeper cabin for couples or
honeymooners looking for a romantic getaway.

Activities:
The forest lends itself to peace and tranquility, but for those who have a bit more energy to
spare, you can sign up for guided hikes, bring your bike and try out the MTB trails, visit the
neighbouring farms for horseback riding, canyoning and wine tasting, or spend a day visiting the nearby snake, bird and monkey sanctuaries.

Programmes:
Our experienced and qualified team offers custom­built programmes, from teambuilding to
environmental education, tailored to suit the needs of your corporate or youth group.

Wedding Venue:
Our main hall can comfortably accommodate 80 guests with a dance floor, our large grass
field is perfect for a stretch/Bedouin tent that can easily accommodate more than 80 guests
(this area has spectacular views of the valleys and forest), and we also have a natural
clearing in the indigenous forest, perfect for smaller, more intimate weddings.

Ingwe is endorsed by the Western Cape Education Department and we offer EXCLUSIVE use of the premises to our guests.
