Since Friday, 9 December 2011 @ 20h05, Team-Freedom Won© has been driving our prototype electric car conversion to work, shops, restaurants, friends and family!
We are thrilled to report that after months of road testing all systems are performing according to our high standards for reliability, safety and operability.

The vehicle selected for our electric conversion was a Jeep Grand Cherokee with uprated suspension, which easily handles the 200kg net weight increase of the conversion - enter Freedom1©. This being a five seater SUV with a 30kW motor continuous (45kW maximum), more than 200Nm of torque available at any driving speed, a 150km range between charges and capable of 100km/h highway driving.

EVs (electric vehicles) require almost zero maintenance and Freedom1©'s operating costs amount to a fraction of its ICE (internal combustion engine) counterparts.

Imagine... never having to visit the service station, but rather charging your car at home or at the office! Imagine... trading high fuel costs for a minimal increase in your monthly electricity bill! Imagine... service intervals of more than 50 000km's where the servicing work required is not much more than checking the batteries, tyres, brakes and the window washer fluid!

We did imagine it! And now we've successfully engineered it too! Freedom Won©. It’s done.
