INFORMATION

Living Hope Child Support Trust(L.H.C.S.T) is a Christian, child development , community development and a non- profit making Charitable Organisation.

L.H.C.S.T is registered in South Africa with the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development as a Charitable trust. Its registration number is IT000083/2015©.

The trust functions in three service delivery programmes namely

Child development, Relief and Community development.

COMMUNITIES IN OVERSTRAND

The communities in the Overstrand have been affected a lot by the Human Immunol-deficiency Virus [HIV ].

Its impact on children and families are devastating.
Children confront stigmatisation,lack of love and rejection.
Children and families suffer from malnutrition, hunger and poverty.

A lot of children are dropping out of school and go to the streets where they engross themselves into drug abuse, women and children abuse.

We thus envision a community of practice in which orphans and vulnerable children , the poor, the marginalised, people infected and affected with HIV/AIDS are free from malnutrition, hunger, poverty
and injustice.

Living Hope Child Support Trust identified the urgency to address the above mentioned problems.

PROGRAMMES

EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Living Hope Child Support Trust found the desperate need to put the E.C.D programme in place to assist the working mothers with the proper care of their children while they are going to work.

In the past the young children were left in shanty houses with little or no supervision and without proper nutrition during the day.

The overall objective of the programme is to improve the mental and physical development of children thus improving school readiness and reducing risky behaviours.

AFTER-SCHOOL CARE PROGRAMME

The prime purpose of the programme is to build the resilience of children.

A lot of children have been affected a lot by some social-ills hence there is a great need to build their resilience. We do it through offering the following :

Literacy- children should be able to read , write and speak well.

Numeracy- children should be able to add, subtract, divide and multiply numbers.

We also offer them Life-skills and Art.

LUNCH BUDDIES { FOOD AND NUTRITION SUPPORT} ROGRAMME

This is a school feeding programme aiming to alleviate hunger among poorer school children whose families struggle to put food on the table.

We provide these children with a nutritious lunch five days a week [Monday – Friday].
We do this by collecting fruits, bread, jam, margarine, peanut-butter, cheese etc.

LIVING HOPE CHRISTMAS PROGRAMME

Living Hope Christmas programme aims to bring joy and happiness among children.

The programme intends to bring joy into little children’s lives by giving them Christmas gifts. To be able to give a present that brings joy into a little child’s life at Christmas time and see smiles on their precious faces make all the effort involved in raising funds a true labour of love and grace.

LIVING HOPE CHILD EVANGELISM MINISTRY

Purpose of the Ministry

The prime purpose of the ministry is to reach and evangelize children with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, disciple them in the word of God and establish them in local Biblically sound Churches.

Ministry Objectives

 to win boys and girls to Christ.

 to help children grow as Christians.

 to channel unchurched children into Bible believing and teaching Churches.

 to train Youth or Children workers who will teach the word of God to children

If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasure { Job 36:11 }.

HOW WE DO IT ?

 visit and teach children in schools.

 form Bible clubs in schools.

 hold Bible camps with children.

 distribute Bible literature on child evangelism.

 offer children Bible correspondence courses that enhance Christian growth .

MINISTRY SUPPORT

The ministry depends on the generosity of individual Christians, families, ministries and Churches.

As a non-denominational ministry we would like to hold hands with any ministry or Church to help build the Kingdom of God.

Our programmes depend entirely on the generosity , goodwill and participation of individuals, families , ministries, Churches, the Business Community and Donor Agencies.

but with actions and in truth [ John 3: 18 ]. Together we can transform lives and restore hope and be a part of the change we want to see in the less- priviledged children.
