The purpose of this page is not to blame or point fingers, but rather to provide a forum for the community to proactively come up with ideas to stimulate growth & regeneration in their respective communities across the Western Cape (South Africa).

Thus far Special Ratings Areas (also known as City Improvement Districts) have proven to be remarkably successful with the regeneration of our business hubs, but this can only come about when the public & private sector as well as community organizations come together and work towards a common goal. This also applies to our neighbourhoods, where positive change can only be achieved when everybody does their share by constantly maintaining and upgrading their properties.

We therefore encourage people to share challenges in their communities on our FB page. Tell us about illegal land invasions, absent landlords, slum landlords, abandoned properties, unlawful businesses, as well as illegal building & alterations without approved plans in your area. We can only overcome these challenges by standing together as a community, through positive engagement, negotiations and if needs be, hard pressure on the relevant parties. Any town’s success depends on creativity, passion & innovation!

Die doel van hierdie bladsy is nie om te blameer of vinger te wys nie, maar eerder om n’ forum te skep vir gemeenskappe om pro-aktief met idees vorendag te kom om groei & herontwikkeling aan te moedig in hul onderskeie gemeenskappe regdeur die Wes Kaap (Suid Afrika). Tot dusver het Spesiale Aanslaggebiede (ook bekend as Stadsverbeteringsdistrikte) hulself bewys as uiters suksesvol met die heronwikkeling van ons besigheidssentrums, maar dit kan slegs gebeur indien die publieke & privaat sektor, tesame met gemeenskapsorganisasies saamwerk aan n’ gemeenskaplike doelwit. Daarom vra ons mense om betrokke te raak en ons in kennis te stel van onwettige grondbesettings, ‘slum’ eiendomseienaars, vervalle eiendomme, onwettige besighede, asook onwettige bouwerke & verbouings in hul areas. Ons kan slegs hierdie uitdagings oorkom as ons saamstaan as n’ gemeenskap, deur positiewe betrokkenheid, deur onderhandelings, en indien nodig deur druk toe te pas op die relevante groepe. Enige dorp se sukses hang af van kreatiwiteit, passie & innovasie!
