Mighty Families Conference

Mighty Families is a Bloemfontein initiative that was birthed after the unforgettable IT'S TIME event led by Angus Buchan. For years we have been praying on Naval Hill for the city and one day the Lord gave us Isaiah 66:18, where He promised He will bring people from everywhere to see His glory. The answer came on 22 April 2017 at IT'S TIME. After the amazing event many people began to wonder "What now?" We decided to pray, as uncle Angus instructed on that day. A group of men began to wait on the Lord and agreed to only meet again when the Lord has spoken to us. When we met we shared the Scriptures He gave us, namely Joshua 24:15; Mal. 4:6; Ps 68, 127. What all these Scriptures had in common was an emphasis on 'family'. The name MIGHTY FAMILIES came out spontaneously. The idea of Mighty Families is thus the direct result of the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and to Him all the glory. Although Mighty Families does not fall under Shalom Ministries, we received permission from them to use the name 'Mighty Families'. It is wonderful that God is raising up multiple initiatives to advance His Kingdom in South Africa.

We live in a time where there is an open onslaught by the enemy on families. Divorce rates are at record highs - even in the church; children trapped in different forms of addictions are rampant; men struggle with pornography and an emancipation of their roles in the family; women are under increasing stress and pressure; teenage pregnancies and abortions are among the common challenges families have to deal with; disciplining children becomes more and more problematic; cell phones, laptops and tablets are stealing family time, etc. All this tells you that stronger focus on families and Biblical family values are most critical in our day. Families are important to God because they are the fibre of every society. When families fall, everything else falls. God wants to restore the brokenness in our families and give us life in abundance.

We believe that Mighty Families is a life boat sent by God to rescue what is most important in society. Families are the foundation and Jesus Christ is the Cornerstone of that foundation. By strengthening and restoring families, we rebuilt South Africa from the bottom up. Real change in South Africa can only come when hearts change, when hearts are mended and healed, when hearts are fully surrendered to Jesus. Real change is from the inside out, not from the outside in. This is what South Africa needs. We need to become praying families, loving families and families that make a difference in society. This is the mission of Mighty Families. It múst become a reality. God has a plan for South Africa and it starts in our homes. When our houses are in order, our communities will come into order, and eventually our country will become aligned with God's order. Jesus is the Saviour of South Africa. It begins with Him being the Saviour of my family.
