St George's Preparatory School

General information

St George’s Preparatory School was founded on a commitment to academic excellence and moral integrity. Our pupils seek to sustain that tradition today, whilst enjoying the School’s full programme of sporting, cultural and community involvement activities.

Founded in 1936 by Raymond Hutchinson, the first enrolment numbered about 50 boys. Our school became co-educational in 1987 and now, along with the Pre-Primary, has a total of 410 boys and girls.

St George’s Prep is a non-denominational school rooted in Christian ethics and values. We aim to take the lead not only in our standards of academic, sporting and cultural achievement but also in the promotion and development of a holistic education which is grounded in moral, social and spiritual values.

Here lively minds find stimulus through interaction with each other and through the teaching and guidance provided by a talented, dedicated and caring staff. Above all, our pupils enjoy their days at school and are encouraged to explore the joys of learning, discovery, challenge and adventure. Ours is a happy school in which our pupils are nurtured to become considerate and responsible members of society.
