General information

An Upper Room Bed and Breakfast is situated on the Durban’s ridge with a spectacular view over the harbour. Set away from the main roads in tranquil surroundings and frequented by many species of birds. We are situated at the top of Pigeon Valley which teems with numerous species of wild life. An Upper Room offers peace and tranquillity for the business executive or holiday maker. Children of all ages are welcome, and those who are 5 years and under stay for free. There is a street patrol 24 hours a day in the area to ensure that the area is safe.

There are 4 twin bedded en suite rooms, all with DSTV. Our well appointed rooms are fully air conditioned. We serve a full or continental breakfast to our guests depending on their choice and any special dietary requirements are met by prior arrangement. We offer wireless internet access and a laundry service for your convenience. Each room has a safe, heater and a hair dryer is available on request.

A sparkling swimming pool caters for relaxation and cooling off on hot summer days. Safe off street parking is available through automated gates. Dinners or braai packs are available by arrangement and the use of a barbeque is permitted.
An Upper Room is close to the University of Natal (Howard College Campus), both Entabeni and St. Augustine Hospitals, Glenwood High School and Durban Girls High are within close proximity. The Absa Stadium, as well as the Moses Mabhida Stadium are about 10 km from our establishment. There are a number of restaurants and take-aways around the area which offer a variety of different cuisines. Many of the take-aways have in place a delivery service to your door.
We are well situated and in close proximity of Musgrave Centre as well as the trendy Pavilion in Westville. Gateway Shopping Centre is approximately 20 km from our B&B and which offers loads of entertainment for the whole family. There are safe water activities for adults and children alike such as surfing and boogie boarding in wave pools and much more especially for children.

We pride ourselves that many of our guests repeatedly return to sojourn with us on their visit to Durban whether on business or for pleasure.

We are 37 kms from King Shaka International Airport and 14 kms from Virginia Airport and 10 kms from the International Convention Centre in Durban as well as the beaches and the popular Ushaka aquarium and water park for great entertainment.
