Goldfields Koshuis

General information

Goldfields is the oldest mixed gender koshuis on campus and was originally built in 1987 as a koshuis for coloured students at Stellenbosch University. Goldfields residents are very proud of their history, which in many ways placed Goldfields at the forefront of developments in the new South Africa.

Goldfields’ values are Respect, Responsibility, Freedom and Unity. These values play a large role in the makeup of Goldfields and how Goldfields residents act and live out their time at Goldfields and beyond.

Although Goldfields is blessed with some of the most beautiful grounds on campus, excellent facilities and a rich history, its residents are its biggest asset and they are what make Goldfields so special!
Although academics is seen as being of the utmost importance at Goldfields, Goldfields residents are encouraged to live a balanced lifestyle and participate in one or more of the many sports teams or cultural events available.

Let us remember the past but not dwell in it, may we dream for the future but not live in our dreams, may we take hold of the present, the gift God has given us, and make the most of it!
