General information

Omnico was started in 1987 with the launch of Topsport helmets, offering South African Cyclists a world class product at an affordable price. They were soon joined by D'Arcs Eyewear Systems and locally produced Ryder Cycling Accessories, which were built on that same principle; to provide the local market with world class products at affordable prices

All three brands established themselves in the local cycling market very quickly and laid the foundation on which Omnico continued to grow acquiring distribution rights for many of the world's leading brands such as Bell, Giro, Kenda, Sigma & Easton

In 2000 Omnico acquired its first bicycle agency, Mongoose. Followed in close succession by GT & Schwinn and then in 2009 Cannondale. The latest brand to join the Omnico stable is GoPro, the world's most versatile camera which was acquired in 2010
