General information

About our name.

Housemartin Guest House is named after the European swallows (called Housemartins) that visit South Africa every summer. They make their nests against houses, mainly near outside doors. We have quite a few nests against the building near entrances and therefore we decided to name the guesthouse after them. Like the Housemartins, our guests return to us time and time again.
Location

Housemartin Accommodation is situated in Wilkoppies , a quiet and safe suburb of Klerksdorp right opposite Wilmed Park Private Hospital. Klerksdorp is a city in the North West province of South Africa. When travelling from Johannesburg, Klerksdorp is only 180km on the N12 route towards Kimberley and Cape Town. Accommodation Rooms.

We offer a range of Rooms (Single, Double and Twin), suitable to every taste and every pocket. We boost 12 rooms at Housemartin and another 12 at Mascarene Martin, our other premises, a kilometre up the road, situated on a hill and overlooking Klerksdorp and surroundings.
Bed & Breakfast in Klerksdorp.

We offer B&B (and Dinner on request, week days), at affordable rates. Breakfast and supper is served in the dining room, or can be taken to your room if you prefer. Breakfast is a full English breakfast with cereals, yoghurt, fruit juice, warm milk and tea or Coffee. Supper is a home cooked meal with dessert and a soft drink.
Our guests.

Aimed mainly at business travellers and visitors to the nearby Wilmed Park Hospital, as well as the occasional tourist travelling through on the N12 towards the Cape Province or other popular destinations in the North West province.
Close to us.

Close by, you will find restaurants, Pick ’n Pay Hypermarket, pharmacies, doctors, dentists and specialist’s rooms, banks and various ATM's. Anncron Life Hospital and Sunningdale Hospital are both within short driving distance.
Entrances.

Our rooms have a mix of private and ‘in a passage' entrances. Some guests prefer a private entrance, others feel safer with a passage entrance, like in a hotel. Lapa and swimming pool is available if you want to relax outside.
Parking.

Safe guest parking is in the back, behind a remote controlled gate and you can come and go without any restriction, as you please.
Invoice.

We are V.A.T. registered and you get a legal Tax Invoice. Provide your V.A.T. number. The booking system of Housemartin and Mascarene Martin is combined and you get one invoice, regardless if you used both or one of the premises.
Payment.

Payment must be made when checking in and can be cash, card or EFT, if you booked in advance. Bookings long in advance is subject to a 50% deposit, non-refundable, to confirm the booking.
