This Bookshop Extraordinaire started as a Singer sewing machine outlet in 1904. A space was found in the corner of the shop for some books, and the store gradually grew into an antiquarian bookshop. In 1962, the late Mr Robin Fryde expanded the bookshop to include the speciality of law books.
