Peter's Metals was established in 1996 and is based in Krugersdorp, Johannesburg.
The founder, Pieter Smuts is the creative and passionate drive behind the business. He studied law at UJ University (formally RAU), Changing career direction when he decided to fulfill his love of creative metal work by studying under a master German metal smith.
He further enriched his creative knowledge by studying abroad in Paris, the beautiful decorative balustrades of the Haussmanian Parisian apartment buildings his musing.
On returning to South Africa,he applied the influence of this incredible decorative art form to his private and public commissions, being balustrades,chandeliers,gates and Lights. He is constantly inspired by contemporary international and African creative metal trends, which he applies to his skilled metal art form.
His work can be found in private homes, office parks and state residences throughout Africa and the world.
Our metal studio produces metal work, custom designed and skillfully crafted by hand, using traditional methods of forging iron rather than casting iron.
