What is iBERT;

Iskhus Bio4Gas Express Reactor Technology (iBERT) was formed as a new company and joint venture in 2010 between Iskhus Green Technologies PTY LTD from South Africa and Bio4Gas Express GmbH from Germany.

Iskhus Green Technologies PTY LTD is a South African company, part of the Iskhus group of companies.

Bio4Gas Express GmbH is a German biogas company that is partially owned by the University of Innsbruck in Austria which developed the patented TGL (Thermo Gas Lift) technology that combines mixing, heating and gas scrubbing into one unit that consist of no mechanical components. This revolutionary technology was then incorporated into the Bio4Gas Express developed two chamber digester system with combines the two chamber digester principle into one compact digester unit. The BERT digester technology was born. This system allows smaller scale biogas plants to be very financial viable with a compact design, small footprint, low maintenance and higher than normal gas yield. These compact biogas systems are running in Europe and have changed the biogas business in these countries. Bio4Gas BERT plants run exclusively on waste materials like, animal slurry, food waste, green waste, slaughter waste and most other biodegradable material.
